The Majorcan goat, indigenous and highly valued

Anyone who appreciates wild animals will be fascinated to discover that some indigenous wild species still roam free in the more isolated and untouched lanscapes of Majorca, which being an island makes this fact even more exceptional. Majorca has a species of feral goat called ‘cabra cimarrona’, which inhabits the most rugged, wild and unihabited areas of the Tramontana mountain range. Its coffee brown colouring and its strong physical appearance make this species especially attractive.
One of the best places to have a chance of seeing this magnificent animal is on the route leading the spectacular clifftop lighthouse at Cape Formentor situated in the north of the island, which in itself is one of the most breathtaking and untouched areas on the island.
